Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) is a lifelong disability that affects the brain and body of people who were exposed to alcohol in the womb. Each person with FASD has both strengths and challenges and will need special supports to help them succeed with many different parts of their daily lives. These challenges may include difficulties with motor skills, physical health, learning, memory, attention, emotional regulation, and social interactions.
At Dufferin Wellington Guelph, our dedicated DCAFS FASD Coordinators are committed to providing expert consultation and guidance, ensuring that families and individuals receive the specialized resources they need.
By fostering education and awareness among families, community partners, and professional peers, we aim to enhance understanding and build capacity within our community.
Together, we can create an inclusive environment that empowers those impacted by FASD to reach their potential.
Whether through our Family & Caregiver Support Group or our Dufferin Wellington Guelph FASD Action Group, we invite families and our community to connect with our FASD Coordinators for expert advice and resources, reinforcing DCAFS our unwavering commitment to nurturing a supportive and caring community.
